Emergency Rental Assistance Application

The City of Monterey is offering Emergency Rental Assistance to households struggling with the current economic challenges as a result of COVID-19. If you meet the pre-qualifications listed below, click the button to complete your application:

To prequalfy, you must meet the following criteria:
  • You must live or work in the City of Monterey
  • You must be experiencing a loss of income due to COVID-19
  • You must be able to provide a lease agreement or letter confirming tenancy from your landlord
  • You must have been current on rent payments prior to COVID-19 (April 1, 2020)
  • You must make less than 80% of Area Median Income.

  • Only one application shall be submitted and reviewed per household (any duplicate applications will be disqualified). An applicant must be on the rent/lease agreement as the head of household or other tenant/occupant
